It all started with a text message inquiry: “Hi Ms. Ivy, this is Jing from TV5 & Viva’s Born To Be A Star, may I ask if you would be interested to be part of the show as official Hair & Make-Up sponsor for Tita Geleen Eugenio?” Then, after five minutes she replied with this: “Hi Jing, yes we are very much interested to be Tita Geleen’s official HMU sponsor. Let me know more about the details.”
That reply embarked a beautiful relationship with Glam Squad Salon. I always made sure that Ms. Ivy’s staff will be comfortable on our busy shooting schedule. I’m also hands-on when it comes to their media mileages execution. I make sure that there’s voice over for acknowledgement suite and the official logo is included in the show’s Closing Billboards. The show ended but my relationship with Ms. Ivy has never.
For many times she had invited me to come over, it took almost three months before I was able to visit the salon and meet her personally. This time, I will be doing a feature and review of Glam Squad Salon. I’m very happy to do this because I was able to provide them the TV exposure before and now on my blog. Maybe that’s the real purpose why I was destined to be a Sponsorship Producer – to help promote the brands.
The review just came in perfect timing when I need the most! I’ve been very frustrated with my hair, as in to be exact the hair was extremely devastating! Haha! I always describe it as “nakaka-tanggal ng dignidad!”
I met their Creative Senior Stylist Mr. Michael who just took over for the total hair make-over. I got hair rebond, brazilian blowout and full hair color in burgundy!
After 3 days, I returned to the salon for hair spa! Whoa! Got back the hair’s crowning glory! Pak na pak!
Let me share you a little trivia about Glam Squad Salon. It’s a continuation of a legacy coming from the Varona’s who successfully penetrated the salon industry for more than 20 years! It was established during the 1980s formerly known as Varona Salon. I’ve seen photos of Sharon Cuneta, Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos who were the front runners during that era.
Now, it’s a revival Prestige Salon with luxurious VIP stations, Nail Lounge and Gentleman’s Barbershop dedicated in consistently providing high customer satisfaction by rendering excellent service, high quality products and furnishing a luxurious atmosphere at an acceptable price.
Take a look at their elegant and luxurious-looking salon located at the ground floor.
At the second floor, here’s the nail lounge and VIP area.

The third floor is dedicated for Gentlemen. A barber shop with compilation of vintage vinyl records. Indeed a perfect hub for those who just want to have a private and relaxing time. They also have a wine bar for those who want to chill a bit.

Thumbs-up to Ms. Ivy Varona for continuing their family’s legacy and bringing the salon experience to the next level! For her, the salons’s name have meanings and stands for something: Matrix – originated from God, Glam – beauty and Squad – team! Indeed, Glam Squad Salon has a professional squad that will serve each client with excellence!
Thank you Ms. Ivy… Thank you Glam Squad Salon!
