A Taste of Elegance at Meranti Hotel

It’s been a while since I attended a food blogging event. But here’s another great chance to do what I love the most – food tasting! Are you ready for another episode of my foodtrip? Let’s do this!

In the busy heart of Quezon City’s lifestyle district, there’s a fresh boutique hotel nestled along Scout area known as Meranti Hotel.

“Tuloy po kayo!” Wow, I never heard any hotel who would greet me like that, very Pinoy! True enough, upon entry at the lobby, I felt that Filipino homey yet extremely elegant ambiance of Meranti Hotel. What caught my attention immediately are those huge well-lighted chandeliers! They are soooo beautiful! There’s also the signature chairs by the world renowned Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue. I never imagined that a world-class looking hotel can be found in Quezon City!

Since I’m one among the early birds, I got the chance to be toured by Ms. Gen Sebastian. We started at the penthouse which boasts an infinity pool, wait it’s a glass, see-through pool! Providing a breathtaking view of the city skyline and a perfect spot to witness a romantic sunset. There’s also a deck bar which operates every payday night for someone who would love to chill and unwine after a busy day.

Ms. Gen toured us to one if their standard room which was surprisingly spacious enough with two double-side bed made of top of the line European linen memory foam and 400 thread Egyptian cotton! I tried the bed and wow, very comfy indeed! There’s also a hospitality TV that allows guests to browse the internet, check the hotel’s directory and menu. I’m sure you’ll be very happy to know that every room has its own wifi connection, so you won’t have any issues on the interenet speed connection. Excellent job! I think I’m going to stay at the room most of the time. Haha!

And now for today’s highlight, let’s get to know about Maple at Meranti. But before we start with the food, let me share a little trivia. Meranti Hotel is a part of Max’s Group Inc. which operates Max’s Restaurant. Can’t wait to start our fancy dinner! We met the hotel manager, Mr. Brix Fernandez who welcomed us to the great dinner!

Each blogger chose an appetizer and main course plus drinks. So here’s some of the food we indulged together! Be prepared to get envy and hungry! 🙂

Starting off with this complimentary Maple Bun! Served hot, soft and tasty with butter on top

Chili Soup (Php 150) – A mild bean beef and pork chili soup served with sour cream and a slice of freshly baked jalapeno corn bread

Arugula Salad (Php 225/450) – A fresh mix of rocket arugula, cherry tomatoes and walnuts tossed with a light lemon vinaigrette and topped with poached egg, prosciutto, Grana Paciano shavings and a drizzle of balsamic reduction

Maple House Salad (Php 225/450) – fresh mesclun and vegetables sprinkled with maple glazed pecans and parmesan flakes with roasted shallot vinaigrette

Chilean Mussels (Php 550) – these mussels are directly imported from Chile, cooked in premium beer served with crostini

Southern Style Fried Chicken (Php 475) – choice of three pieces coated and fried until crunchy! Superb taste! Must try!

Prime Rib Tapa (Php 520) – a marinated prime ribserved with garlic rice, two eggs prepared with sidings of tomato-onion salsa and achara! Extremely tasty and delicious! Thumbs up! Must try!

Maple Club (Php 410) – lettuce, grilled chicken, cheese, maple-glazed bacon, tomatoes, scrambled egg and ham served with special house dressing, choice of white or whole wheat bread with a side of country fries

Lemon Cucumber Slush  (Php 145)
With all those dishes they served to us generously, our diet were definitely postponed! Haha! We can’t say “no” with everything! My personal favorite was the heavenly perfectly seasoned and cooked Prime Rib Tapa!

Meranti Hotel is a perfect choice for family who would like to spend a staycation without missing much from the city life!

Visit them at 82 Scout Castor Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City.

I’ll probably bring my kids here really soon!

Thanks again Meranti Hotel!
